Youth Street Art Project Port Melbourne
SUNDAY 8th APRIL 11.30 - 1pm
A group of 9 young people from in and around Port Melbourne have been working hard to design a mural for the Sandridge Trugo club in Port Melbourne! Some themes have been the Swallow biscuit factory, the 109 tram, Uncle Jack Charles, the Beacons and elements of nature. Their choices reflect their connection to Port and also the feedback they received at the Port Melbourne Community Carnival. We'd love the community to come along and support these creative young artists and see them in action at the Open Studio on Sunday 8th of April

"Inter G" Project
Bubup Womindjeka Family and Children's Centre, Star Health and SHIP have initiated a pilot "Intergenerational Project" where 4 local residents have been visiting the children's centre to interact with the children. The aim is to foster connections and respectful relationships between different generations, to help to develop acceptance of diversity within our society; to develop positive learning experiences for the children and to create an inclusive community for older local residents in our neighbourhood. It's only been 5 weeks but it's been a roaring success! If you'd like to be involved or you know an active retiree who would be great with pre-schoolers please click "Get Involved!".
