Port Melbourne Sewing Bee
will be held on
Saturday the 11th of November from 1pm to 4pm
Port Melbourne Neighbourhood Centre
Cnr Liardet and Nott Streets

And guess what, sewing bees are not just for sewers!
If you can cut material, do some ironing, pinning or just want to come along and find out more - all are very welcome.
Bring a friend, have a cuppa and do something for ...the environment!
We have plenty of fabric to cut, iron and sew, so bring your sewing machine or otherwise just bring yourself
and even just one hour of your time will make a huge difference

We’d love to see you there!
If you would like to sew from home, please email the coordinators at bbagspp@gmail.com and have sewing kits delivered to your home, or you can pick them up from the sewing bees

This is a new initiative with the aim of picking up rubbish off the streets of Port Melbourne before it reaches the beach and gets into the bay.

The annual Walk Against Family Violence is being held to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and White Ribbon Day.The Walk aims to advocate and raise awareness of family violence and the impact it has on women and children in our community as well as pay tribute and commemorate those who have lost their lives to family violence. 

Speakers include Rosie Batty, Annette Gilespie, CEO of Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre and Graham Ashton, Chief Commissioner for Victoria Police.

Please come along to show your support for this important issue and contribute to campaigning for an end to violence against women and children.

Have your say on the Draft Fishermans Bend
Framework released 21 October 2017
The Victorian Government announced the release of the draft Fishermans Bend Framework on 21 October 2017. The Framework is a long term strategic plan to guide the development of Fishermans Bend to 2050, in line with the 2016 Vision
Fishermans Bend will make a significant contribution to housing growth, with new high density neighbourhoods in Port Phillip. We encourage all community members to have their say on the draft Fishermans Bend framework.
There are a number of ways you can find out more information and provide feedback:
  • visit the Victorian Government’s Fishermans Bend website to view the draft Fishermans Bend Framework, draft planning scheme controls and supporting documents
  • attend an information session or drop in event hosted by the Fishermans Bend Taskforce – view the events web page for details
  • make an online submission via Engage Victoria or contact Planning Panels Victoria on (03) 8392 5123 if you would like to make a hard-copy submission.
Make sure to submit your feedback by 5pm, Friday 15 December 2017.
